Blurb from Goodreads :   This is the Empire. The greatest nation in the known world.

And it is at war.

However, as they tackle this mystery, they discover an ancient hatred spanning centuries, with a dark secret linked to Merin and the painful past behind the satirizing cavalier. A swashbuckling tale of suspenseful fantasy and horrifying mystery that is loaded with humor, The Shadows of Northlands will leave you riveted from cover to cover.

                               Review :

Cover Page : I loved it. It have that dramatic overpowering image. 🙂

Plot: Don’t underestimate the author. This book is  phenomenally portraits the whole fantasy genre including suspense, action, adventure, mystery.

  • Magic was, in essence, the control atmospheric energy- manifest in the elements- by the utilisation of the proper Runes and Incantations. For feats of greater and greater complexity, Incantations as large as sentence were employed. For simpler tasks, just the name of the element sufficed.
  • Every waking hour, my mind widens until it can expand no more as I strive to understand the pain and the suffering of my beleaguered ancestors.

Overall: This book have so much potential and creativity. I can’t comprehend that this book is written by a mere 14 year old one. 🙂  This book is beautifully sculptured and described. It is in third person’s point of view.  Although, Merlin and Rikkard both are like main characters but Merlin really stood out. I liked his quirky remarks  and don’t-talk-shit-with-me attitude. This book is, as said in blurb, about an Empire under attack. The actions were fast paced but at same time kept the flow of story steady. Alas, this book is a must read for a fantasy lover. 🙂
