A Thousand Salt Kisses Later By Josie Demuth

A Thousand Salt Kisses Later By Josie Demuth

Publication Date: December 5 2016

Blurb from Goodreads: The spellbinding sequel to A Thousand Salt Kisses. Four years ago, Crystal White fell in love with Llyr, a prince of the magical mer colony living off the coast of Starfish Island. For one summer, he enchanted her with stories of jeweled palaces and underwater gardens, but then he left, returning beneath the waves with her heart in tow. Now, graduated and with no job in sight, Crystal is forced to go back to the island she thought she had left in the past. By the sea again, she realizes she is far from over her first love, and when an opportunity arises to contact the merfolk, Crystal can’t resist. Once more with the mer, Crystal is forced to come to terms with the fact that Llyr has moved on, and also with her own magical secret that has endangered her life, his throne, and every mer kingdom. Working against all odds, she has to try to save the people she has come to love and—if she can—rekindle the romance of her first summer on Starfish Island.

Cover page: All the cover pages in series are beautiful. They are perfectly made for the series and somehow justifies the book.

Plot: Comparing with the book 1, book 2 had more,

  • Suspense
  • Trill
  • Adventure
  • Magic and
  • Lots of romance.

  • To the Lord and Lady of nature, Semblance of evil allow not near me, Thou ancient harmonies stay with thee, Understand them and be with the power of elements, Be true to the Lords of the forests, and the Ladies of the stars and sea, and be they with you through the evergreen ocean paths.
  • Maybe if you  are truly meant to be with somebody, then you will find each other, again and again, no matter what.

Overall: This book is the continuation of A thousand salt kisses. I liked this series so far. As I stated in my Book 1 review that it is just Disney fantasy mixed with more adventure and adult stuff. :p

What I liked about this book that completed in a sitting is that the author described things beautifully. I loved her description about the sea world and it’s mysteries, the strange rituals, uncanny mermaids. Though there were some places that it felt unrelatable. Like how Crystal was panicking at first when she changed and after just a few moment she was relaxed more than anyone. And how foolish Llyr appeared in the whole book. I had a crush on him from the previous time but he shattered it in pieces. I thought he was stronger than that. Well, now I’m pretty much waiting for the next book. 🙂
