The seven kingdoms of Avalonia are crumbling and evil is spreading across the land like a plague. Queen Morgana is close to finding a way to open The Book of Abraxas and it’s only a matter of time until she uses the power trapped inside its pages to enslave the entire world.

With Avalonia growing more dangerous by the day, Aurora must travel through war-torn lands and deep into the heart of the fae kingdom of Elfi. Her goal is to find a legendary weapon infused with the last of the realm’s ancient magic—the only weapon in the world powerful enough to stop the queen. Aurora might have survived her first battle against Morgana, but the true fight to save her kingdom and restore her throne has only just begun…

Review:~

Cover Page:  Though I liked the cover page of ‘The Last of the Firedrakes’ more, it is not that bad. Good point is it justifies with the book in a way.

7/10

Plot: This book is the continuation of The Last of the Firedrakes. It has everything that I expected. The mystery, thriller, romance, and most of all the magic for which I was reading and waiting desperately. Even though some parts were predictable, plot took some twists and turns that made me overlook them.

Writing:

  1. His lips found mine and he kissed me; gently at first, and then more insistently, pressing me firmly against him. My passion flared as I wrapped my arms around his neck, trying to get closer. I knew this was not right, that he was engaged to be married, but I didn’t want it to stop.
  2. “Destiny is a strange thing–it may shape our fate, but eventually we all have a choice as to how to use the opportunities given to us.”
  3. “Faith is the greatest magic of all. It can lift the world out of the darkness and bring it into the light. Be the Star of the Morning, the light that fills the world with magic.”

9/10

Overall: I. Loved. This. Book.

I’ve waited for it so long and still waiting for the next to come. I won’t say much to avoid spoilers but would say this is one of the best magical rides I ever had apart from the known. 🙂 I liked how author, again created such a complex world and described beautifully everything.

Though if you have read my review of The Last of the Firedrakes, you would know how much I was pissed off  at a character. But now I wish nothing but to see them happy!

Sure, there were some places that made me think  what is going to happen beforehand but they all mended when I further read.

Do read if you’re a fantasy maniac like me and want to read something different. 🙂
